碳纤维增强复合材料是以碳纤维或碳纤维织物为增强体,以树脂、陶瓷、金属、水泥、碳质或橡胶等为基体所形成的复合材料。在众多轻量化材料中具有较高的比强度、比刚性,轻量化效果十分明显,在航空航天、军工产品中得到广泛应用。


目前,碳-碳复合材料的发展立足于新工艺、新设备的研制与发展,努力降低生产成本,而且努力的想办法克服自身的缺点。如:碳-碳复合材料的抗氧化的性能差,目前改善的方法有:浸渍树脂时加入抗氧化剂;气相沉碳时加入其它抗氧化元素等等。碳-碳复合材料还有其它固有的缺点,如在加工方面制造加工的周期太长、可塑性太差、成本太高,这些不足之处在以后的发展中将会得到解决。
